Yin Yoga is not simply a stretching class, restorative yoga, or a practice where you always fall asleep and find it easier than dynamic yoga. These are overly simplistic assumptions. Yin Yoga is a style of yoga—or an approach to physical yoga practices—that complements more active styles. It is slow, static, and passive, with poses (asanas) held for longer durations. While this can make the practice challenging, it also cultivates qualities that differ from active yoga styles.
In this training, the practice, alignment, anatomy, and philosophy are based on the origins of Yin Yoga as taught and developed by Paul Grilley.
The focus of the foundational training is on anatomy and asanas to ensure a safe practice and an understanding of physical diversity. Common statements and assumptions about human bone structure and alignment are critically examined.
-
Yoga that aims to fit everyone into the same aesthetic form is ineffective. On the contrary, it can harm practitioners if poses are not adapted to their unique bone structures.
This training introduces the latest findings from fascia research, explaining how the long, static poses of Yin Yoga affect deep tissue layers through compression and tension.
-
This 50-hour training is designed to build a fundamental and solid understanding of Yin Yoga practice and teaching. It enables you to design classes that are guided for everyone but adapted to individual needs. In Asana Labs, Yin Yoga poses are explored in different variations, with props, and tailored to various physical requirements and situations. Participants will discuss, experiment with, practice, and analyse these poses together.

MEET THE TEACHER: Nikoleta
Nikoleta experienced her first Yin Yoga classes during her Hatha/Vinyasa Yoga training and immediately knew Yin Yoga would play a central role in her future practice.
Since then, she has completed two Yin Yoga teacher trainings with international teachers trained by Paul Grilley, the founder of Yin Yoga. Nikoleta has accumulated over 700 hours of Yin Yoga training combined with meditation and TCM/acupressure and has taught hundreds of Yin Yoga classes. Her classes vary in focus, from physical challenges and mental clarity to energy pathways and women’s health.
